Hello,

so...

keyboard player will record notes in the MPC3000 using a MIDI keyboard controller (using Logic as a sound module) along with the Pitch Wheel

the sequence is done

as soon as she (the Keyboard Player) releases the Pitch Wheel the sound goes back to the middle (meaning the Pitch Wheel goes back to the center)

now I can get the sound of her playing with that Pitch Wheel sound if I quickly move to the next Track BUT as soon as I Stop the record and than hit that Play button on the MPC3000, that Pitch Wheel sound goes back to the middle

what is going on?

Thanks!

Are you sure the Pitch info is being recorderd to the track?

Make sure you are on the track and go to Step Edit : Options : View : ALL EXCEPT NOTES

Do you see pitch stuff?

Yes I see Pitch Bend

1) Step Edit

2) Options (Soft Key 4)

3) View: ALL EXCEPT NOTES

4) Highlight where it says "NOTES" and change it too PITCH BEND

correct?

so it's working "okay" so far but is this suppose to happen...

she wants to play the whole 4 bar with the Pitch Bend (from start to finish), but as soon as the 4 bar is done (goes to overdub mode) and she releases the Pitch Bend it goes back to that middle/center sound BUT when she plays only parts and hits with the pitch bend it's working fine but it doesn't want to work when she plays and holds her notes all the way through to the 4 bar.

Seems like the Pitch Bend only wants to work when you release it at a certain time (almost before the 4 bar ends) is this correct?

I think you've answered your own question.

You can play the whole way through, just let go, or hit stop before the loop ends.

and guess what? IT WORKS! Thank you

For some strange reason the Pitch Bend and Over Dub doesn't seem to respond to each other, but with Auto Punch, Mode: PUNCH OUT ONLY, Turn on (Soft Key 1) it works perfectly, well not perfectly like right away but once you Stop the record and hit Play on the MPC3000 it will playback what you just did on the Pitch Bend or you can wait the whole 4 bar (or how many bars you are working with) and once it loops back to Bar 1, it will playback what you just did with the Pitch Bend,

Thanks again fasttrackpimp!

That's another way, punch out, works the same way as the methods I described.

Overdub does work. I do it all the time.

My guess is that when your doing overdub you already have pitch info recorded or something.

Either way, glad it works :)
