I got one!... theres alot of talk about the 5k being this piece of junk mpc imitation. that is completely wrong.. i don't know about the first edition 5k's or whatever, but i got mines last year, and it is absolutley the JUICE! it runs flawlessly, loads/saves flawlessly, sequencer is flawless, on board synth is stacked and works beautifully; i can truly say that i have explored every facet of this machine and it is seamless operation... completely perfect- so i have no clue what all the bitchin is about. over the last decade i've worked on a 1k a 2500, and a 4k ( a few years with each machine) and can say without a doubt that there is nothing inferior about the 5k. maybe there were tech problems in the beginning, and perhaps the price tag was initially too high... but i have to say i love mine and use it over the other machines at my disposal. what do i use it for? i'm a crate digger like many of you, i search a record- sample- and slice-edit-program-then record. i use outside midi elements without a hassle on the 5k, i record live into the 5k(guitars/mics/"scratch vocals"/etc)without an issue. the design is sleek and looks good in my lab. i am really puzzled as to what more anyone could want from an mpc? granted, all mpc's basically do the same shit, the mpc 5000 is NOT an inferior mpc at all in any way shape or form. i got mine as a gift, but i would no doubt buy one anyway... love the 5k. (also loved every mpc i've ever had lol...)
