Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Sorry if this is another one that comes up all the time - couldn't find an answer in a search.

I am using my mpc as the master sequencer & sampler, also triggering NI synths and Reason in the PC (basically the pc is just acting as a sound module).

Just wondered if I can use the NV slider on the mpc to send midi CC data eg to control parameters on the software?

Reading the manual I'd say no, but then...

Thanks in advance

never thought to look into that. I really really dont think so at all... it seems to only control the things 16 levels can control. and some other internal features like start/end points and such. I dont think I ever saw anything CC midi related for the slider, only for the pads.

would have been neat though, however if you want to use a slider to control computer pluggins you could just get a small USB fader/knob controller for cheap.

edit: on newer mpcs i think you can do that but not on the 2000/2000xl

No this is not possible. The option ASSIGN NV SLIDER to CC is for controlling the NV Slider via an external controller (moluation wheel or external fader etc).
But the NV Slider won't send anything outside the MPC.
