Trouble with chopping breakbeats

Ok lets say I sample about 4 seconds of a break from a record and I go into trim mode on the my 2000xl...How do I get the kick drum out of that 4 second break individually and assign that individual instrument to a pad?

I would like to wash and repeat with the snare and hi hat as well.


P.S. I sold a xl a while ago and recently got another one...I have been on mpc-forums for a while as you can see and I know you guys are probably like "he should know how to do this by now"...But when I use to make beats I used library drums.

Looks like I will have to find out on my own.

Just copy the sample about 3 times and trim the kick, truncate and then move onto the next one until you got a kick snare and hihat

This. Or use "extract" which will create a new sample of the highlighted area.

Or hit auto slice or auto chop and select the usable drumhits.

Yea this would definitely be quicker
