Ok lets say I sample about 4 seconds of a break from a record and I go into trim mode on the my 2000xl...How do I get the kick drum out of that 4 second break individually and assign that individual instrument to a pad?

I would like to wash and repeat with the snare and hi hat as well.

P.S. I sold a xl a while ago and recently got another one...I have been on mpc-forums for a while as you can see and I know you guys are probably like "he should know how to do this by now"...But when I use to make beats I used library drums.

That was the FIRST thing that came to mind  TRIM mode is in the manual, so is assigning to pads.

You'll be fine, it's not hard as you think and you'll kick yourself later
for stressing over something so simple.

This. Or use "extract" which will create a new sample of the highlighted area.

Yea this would definitely be quicker
