searching for that perfect bass sound....

Can anyone one recommend a good bass sound? doesn't matter if its a synth patch, VST or whatever, I'm just looking for a simple bass sound that will sit nicely with my sample based track. Something like the sound that Khrysis uses on the "Who's that" beat. (track is fire btw!)

maybe try some synth pluggins you might have and load up some random keyboard base (fm bass you probably have somewhere because it is very common on pluggins) and pop a low pass filter on it. you might get something good out of it. Also, try looking for bass guitar VSTs... they have some that do quite well imitating actual guitars with articulation keys and things like that so you can get them to sound pretty real.

YES ur RIGHT.

But some people just look for the perfect bass right off the bat and don't know how and/or try to
be creative and make the one they want. A clean sine/saw/trianglewave can be tweaked to SO many creations it's unbelievable.

that for sure comes from a keyboard... i was having trouble hearing it... but the waveform seems grainier than a sinewave... but sine will do the trick as the guys said.

i use arturia minimoog vst through ableton heavy on the lpf and heavy on the gain
and use all 3 oscillators and bam


out of the box but i let it slide since i cant afford an actual one and it sounds decent

**** moogs man... we all have dozens apon dozens of moog pluggins and we still wish we had the real thing also.

its the bass from the original chops with a sine wave bass layered in to fatten it up, probably some eq as well.
Learn to hear the difference between bass guitar, sine waves, square wave, saw tooth and all the rest it will serve you well!

learning your sound palette is something every good producer MUST do
