Studio monitors +- 1000$

Hello. I know this subject was repeated over and over, but I really can't find anything that would help me 'cus most of the things I've been looking at are outdated. I don't expect you to tell me which ones are the best, but I want to know your opinions and recommendations. I know I could buy something on my own, but wasting 1000$ is a pain in the ass.

If it's a smaller to medium room your working in.. I like the krk5 (powered) they sound sweet and they are affordable, got mine 150 a piece. The 8's are a little more and probably worth it for a bigger room. Also mackie and m audio have some affordable options

yeah but if his budget is 1000 dollars why would he even look at those krks or m audios?

Because maybe his room is not tuned and won't benefit from more expensive monitors.
If you are going with monitors that are $1k or more they deserve a good room or at least decently tuned room.

A more expensive monitor won't make a bad room sound better.

NOT TRUE

If he gets the JBL LSR 4326P they come with room correction software as well as a mic to calibrate the monitors to adapt to any mixing condition. I have been using them for about a year at the home studio. I use them to mix all my clients from the studio.

because if i was going high end - i'd spend way over a grand, and i dont find that any set up around $1k really does anything above and beyond the krk line... especially the krk 8's with a krk 10 sub- this set up sounds great for around $900 all together. so basically if i was going over a grand... i'd probably go over 2g's while i'm at it. maybe you like paying extra for certain brands- but if your not buying the flagship or at least high end, your basically overpaying for a label.. me, i like to get the best bang for the buck even if i got dough to blow. i agree tho.. the jbls are juiced. (you realize they are in the same class as the set up i'm describing tho right?)

there are some new Adam speakers coming out by the end of the summer that will be replacing the current "A" line, including an 8" speaker

I think in that price range I'd be looking at hsm80, those jbl's and adam7's

I recently went through this decision too. For me it came down to the Yam HS80s or the JBL LSR 2328s. I tried to talk myself into some KRKs cuz they're cheaper, but they just didn't have the detailed transients that the above 2 have. I liked the Yams very much but went with the JBLs for the greater bass extension and because I liked their sound just a little better. I'm sure I would have been happy with either, but I've been very very pleased with the JBLs.

Really funny because KRK also has a room correction system called the ERGO.
But back to thereal point Room correction does not fix the room it fixes your perspective.
Definitely not the same.
