translator with 3k error

I'm using translator with the 3k and i save them onto part. A. It converts, but when i try to load it on the mpc, i get an error saying "the requested file cannot be found on disk". but it shows on the screen that it is in there, an snd and pgm version.

anyone....?

report it chicken sys, ive got translator- and have found it very buggy, and not just with mpc stuff. My version wont convert anything to mpc60 format, ive reported it and hopefully it'll be sorted for the next update.

Translator doesn't work.

It will do .snd's, not .pgm's

does the mpc editor (not the avs one) work?

MPCeditor works for me.

yeah mpc editor will work for creating pgms, but you should still report it to chicken sys cause it advertises that as a destination format.
The awave demo converts things to and from mpc60 format no problem as far as i can tell. i already bought translator for another sampler,so im going to wait to see if it gets sorted it out before i buy awave.

Buy Awave. It's awesome.

It does much more than Translator, and it's an instrument creator.

It's also Bug free

And yeah, I told CS about the MPC3000 problem years ago.

They said they'd fix it, then in the new release claimed it was.

yeah, my first impressions of awave put in a different league to translator.my initial problem was i wanted to convert years worth of emu esi sample presets so i could use them in my mpc1000. Unfortunately the emu wasnt supported by awave.. Extra unfortunate was the fact that translator didnt work with that format either (despite the claims)..the bugs got sorted eventually, but in retrospect i could of record the samples by spdif and remapped them by hand considering all the hassles.
With my 60, its cool to use the awave demo to transfer things ive sampled in the 60 to the computer, (which mpc editor doesnt cater for..apart from for backing up), but it'd be great to have the full version.
Do you know if it can convert samples to 12bit 60 snds in bulk- the demo will convert to mpc3000 pgms and snds,but you can only convert individual samples to 60 12bit sounds.

The individual sample thing is a limitation of the Demo.

cool, i thought so.... can you do it one pass though? i.e. convert to mpc3000 pgm and 60 snds, rather than convert to 3000 pgm and sounds, then convert to 60 snds? Its not a big deal but it'd be nice to know- so itd save me the time the 60 takes to convert the snds natively.

I wouldn't recommend translator to anybody interested in using it with an MPC60. Simply an extremely buggy and poorly tested piece of software. And, as somebody already pointed out, it can't convert to proper MPC60 format.

The idea of working with virtual Akai drives within translator is great though, it can already read all the partitions from a regular MPC60 image if you mount it as a virtual drive. Too bad it regularly crashes out after having transfered just two or three files. And I've tried this on three different PCs..

MPC Editor is the way to go... It sucks chopping on the 3000 so I just chop in CEP and then export the chops to a program onto a zip disk via MPC Editor.... works like a charm... The new version also allows you to format a zip disk so it can be read by both the MPC and Windows XP... its great!! However the dual format only gives you 30mb of space on a 100 mb disk..
