Gap at begining of recorded samples

Whenever I sample from the analogue ins, there's always a short gap between the start point and the actual begining of the sample waveform (about 3000 sample points). This is enough for recorded samples to play out of sync with any pre-recorded ones. Anyone else noticed this, and any way to avoid it (other than manually editing every new sample I record)?

Part of the whole game of sampling is to actually edit every sample to perfection.

Is there a pre-record threshold setting or something you can find in "the manual".
That also might help narrow down the space, but ultimately, your ears and experience will be the best
tools to use.

^^^ The Threshold works nice, just like the old rackmount Akai samplers.
It really saves me alot of time so that I don't have to go back and trim all the samples I record.
