Hello Guys

I'm having trouble setting up my whole set-up. Here is my equipment

1. Mpc 1000 (JJOS Installed)
2. M-Audio Oxygen 8 V2
3. Mixcraft 5
5. A Midi Adapter

What I essentially want to do is have everything connected and recorded into Mixcraft 5 (So I can edit and build a whole song). I want to play my drums live on the MPC and have the sounds record (Exactly what I play) into Mixcraft 5 as a track, then I want to play synths and piano styles on my Midi Keyboard. I can already record directly into Mixcraft with the Midi Keyboard, but I want to do the same with my MPC.

This is why I bough the MIDI Adapter, because I know you need that to connect the MPC to your computer, but I don’t know what to do after all this though. I am lost as far as the MIDI screen on the MPC what I have with to do with the Slave Option and the Master Option.

Thanks Guys In Advance!

well dude if you don't know what MIDI is then why'd you buy a midi adaptor?
anyway...

You need an audio interface, so your mix can be piped into your computer into mixcraft.

Most audio interfaces these days come with recording software to get you started, but if you are down w/mixcraft stick to it. If you are just using your main outs from the MPC, then you can use a simple interface. if you want to use many outputs from your MPC, keeping all drums on separate tracks, the you're going to need more channels on your interface. The ones below are pretty simple.

cut and pasted from another thread:

Here's the TIP of the iceberg... My 2 minute search for ya
$100 if you have PCI slots avail, includes MIDI in/out and Digi in/out:

If you've got no PCI slots, go USB. Has Mic pre's and can run a guitar/bass direct::

If you have a MAC, or have Firewire available. 5 input, mic pre:

Im sorry dude, I was not clear enough. I do know what MIDI is, So I do want to do it through MIDI signals. But the whole thing is I do not know how to set it up. I dont know what to do with synching it up to my computer and playing my MPC through Mixcraft. Here is what I bought for my MIDI adapter/MIDI interface (Below is the link). As I said before I am lost when I try to connect it with the MIDI screen on the MPC. I dont know what to do with the Master and Slave options. Please help me out if you can,

all that cable is going to allow you to do is either start the MPC when you pres start in Mixcraft, or record your MIDI notes into mixcraft.

if that sounds cool then get to pluggin things up and we can figure it out. but if you want to do more than that then you need an audio interface.
