Sample from iPod

Hi

I got my MPC1000 and 1210 hooked up but i would like to sample from my iPod aswell. I tried to hook my iPod to the MPC with a mini stereo jack/dual mono jack-cable. I connected the cable from my iPod to the Record In-inputs but the signal was VERY low. How do I hook my iPod to the mpc?

Turn up the volume of the ipod...?

I should maybe have written that when i crank the volume on the mpc and iPod i get the very low signal.

why not edit/ sample on the cpu, plug that mf-in 1000 via usb and upload your samples

there are ipod rip programs that copy songs on your ipod to a computer. from there you can drag them on to the mpc

Do you have your turntable going through a dj mixer to the MPC?
If so, plug the iPod into a spare line-in and turn up the gain till it's loud enough.

or compressed mp3 at that (i.e. youtube, or ther web encoded files)

F***in hate my Ipod Shuffle. Everything is little on it : the sound quality, the bass response. Personnally i make sometimes samples out of mp3's but I first convert them to Wav and later on try to improve them. Or even more simple, i open the mp3s in SoundForge, chop, reverse, loop whatever... and then save them as Wav 16bit. Sounds alright.
But Please dont sample directly from the output of an mp3 player!! They're too F***ing small to sound dope!

well what do u think suffers when you can put 1000s of 4, 5, 6 min songs on a device the size of a postage stamp........

you can upload wav files onto an ipod.........btw

You can never truly upgrade a sample. Even if something is converted to a 16 bit WAV, it still comes from an Mp3. Just so you know. The saying is very true: You can't polish a turd.

and if u really have to, never sample an I-pod
And if u really have to, at least hook it up to some mixer or amplifier.
