Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Watup everybody, I was wondering if anyone else has this problem or knows how to fix it. I just bought a mpc 2000xl off of ebay which is in pretty mint condition. However, the front panel that has the space for the floppy disk is either bent or the screws are not set correctly. What I mean is that when the panel is on and screwed in, the top that lines with the casing is not flush and has kind of an empty space in the middle. This is very annoying to me and I was wondering if anyone knows how I can fix it. Thanks a bunch.

The case wasn't put back together in the right order -- if you take the case you'll see where the previous owner screwed up. It should flatten itself out when it's reassembled correctly. I did this when I was replacing switches on a friend's MPC 2000XL -- didn't realize it until everything was back together.

i've done this a thousand times man.. if you think youre doing it right you most likey are theres not a whole lot of tricky egineering to the case... what i do is line it up and hold it in position while i snug up the screws before checking it and tightening everything down cuz if you crank one screw down while the rest are loose its gonna tweak the thing out of place... try it...
