Hi everyone!
I'm new to this forum and new to the whole mpc 1000 thang.
I got mine from a power seller on ebay.
It's in good shape, maxed memory to 128 mb + 2 gig flash card.

The thing is that when i come to load the samples that suppose to come with the mpc (according to the list on the end of the manual) - i can't find any of them.
There are some samples - but it seems that the previous user\owner erased them and replaced them with others.
Could this be the reason?
If yes - than how can i retrieve factory settings?
If not - what could be the reason?

Thanks!

you bought an mpc to use factory sounds? just start sampling your own stuff... believe me, those sounds that come with it are borderline useless anyway. you're not missing out on a thing.

What is your opinion on all those sample banks for purchase?
Are they any good?
Before i start sampling, i also want a good sound base.
There are samples i don't know how else to get - like ethnic percussion etc.
I'm also more into electronic sound than hip hop, so sampling old funk and soul isn't going to cut it.

Do you have any recommendations about ready to use samples?

Thanks.

when i bought my mpc i hopped online and looked for tutorials on how to remove the factory sounds..

oh and the internet is your friend, a little research on google and you can fill up a 80gb HD with drums in no time..

Does it require a special kind of HD? Do i buy one and just "stick" it in? How is it done, and do i need anything else other than a hard drive?

there's a sticky thread all about which HD to use.
