I'm bumpin your thread, happy now?
Unfortunately, I don't have anything nice to say about the modification. I spent a while on it last night, w/ the same materials and everything. I just don't like the extra friction from the bottom of the wheel touching the material-- It's not worth it to me. The data wheel feels even more poorly designed than stock.

strangeness in effect. feels great to me. but in order for it to properly work, you have to make sure the wheel isnt pushed down too far on the spindle. mine operates very close to the same friction as stock. try adjusting before you nix it...

I really tried... spent almost an hour adjusting how high the wheel sits on the shaft. I ended up liking it so high that it wasn't touching the material.
You may either have a smoother data wheel or felt than me... It's probably personal preference though. The data wheel wobbling didn't actually bother me that much.

i'm bumping an old thread here... but i'm curious about this jog wheel mod with the foam tape & felt... unfortunately, the original pictures have expired so it's hard to tell what exactly is being discussed here... can anyone explain where the tape goes & how much to apply?...

basically he had small pieces of adhesive foam under the jog wheel. The adhesive side stuck to the board and the other side you leave the peel away layer. Since its smooth it gives the bottom of the jog wheel something to glide against while it turned. It also took away the nasty wobble.
