MPC 5000 and USB mount

Hi there, maybe somebody can help. Thanks!

1_ I mount the MPC 5000 volumes on a brand new Macbook, but after mounting has taken place, the MPC freezes. Any solution to this is highly appreciated..
2_ when trying to record a sequence live, the MCP does not do anything and looks for a MIDI sync

My 300 gb drive wont work at all with my Macbook or desktop Mac. Did you swap out HD for a larger one? If so thats may be the prob. My 80 gb works fine in Mac

Just to add...

When unmounting my Windoze-based laptop, I have to disconnect the cable before it releases the MPC5000. The notice on the MPC's screen says this is a mac-only behavior. Guess not.

THE MPC did not freeze. That is just how it works. Once you mount the MPC to your computer, you can not do anything else with the MPC until you dismount. I know, it is kind of dumb and just another one of those MPC5000 idiosyncrasies.
