Is my CF slot dead?

Just got me an MPC1000 of ebay this week. It came with OS 1.03 and without memory upgrade.
I upgraded the memory first (128MB ftw!) and everything works fine.

Now I wanted to upgrade to OS 2.13, therefore I got an CF card from a friend. When I put it into the CF slot the MPC freezes.
So I thought... maybe a 1.03 issue. Lets update it anyway. So i uploaded the os bin via a card reader and restarted + holding window. The device now says:
"MPC1000 BootBlock Ver:1.03
Boot on OS update mode
Total memory size : 128MBytes"

And after a while (30 seconds or so) an additional line appears:
"A CompatFlash card was detected."

After that nothing happens. I tried pressing REC, but nothing.
I waited 5 minutes, but nothing..
I tried a 4Gig Sandist Ultra II, a 2Gig Intenso and a 32MB Intenso card. None of wich worked.

I also checked searched the forum and checked if the pins in my cf slot are benden.. They look ok.

Any suggestions?

solved it.
i tried everything, but what helped was opening the MPC and removing the cable for the CF reader.
After reattaching it everythings fine now
