However, DAW's like Cubase and Logic have built-in samplers and groove production tools that are equal or more powerful than Machine.

So the question is why do you need Maschine if you have a major DAW? Or, what are the Pros and Cons of using Maschine vs MPC with your DAW?

The main reason for me to buy Maschine over a year ago, was direct control over every parameter of the software. Halion and most other software samplers didn't offer me that. For example I got tired of having to use the mouse for adjusting start and end points. I really missed the data wheel of my S2000 to do that. Also to select my samples.

not looking for the most powerful sampler in a typical beat i wont even use a fraction of the features offered so i just want the required functions anything extra gets in the way and obscures the process.

looking at the screen to make amendments is wack an using the mouse is wack when dooing a beat even if i use a regular midi controller i still have to look at the computer i wanna get away from that.

i like to use one device mainly if i gotta connect mp via midi thats all long, maschine u have all the benefit of having all sounds available but none of the drawbacks of config software , mouse clicks simple software stream lined for beats but i can work as if on an mpc without touching the mouse or looking at monitors

why do you need mpc if you have major daw ? why they wash their ass instead of wiping?

why do people on here own multiple mpc units, when you only really need one ?. why does one need multiple keyboards when all white and black keys look the same ?.

The only way to "demo" it is to play with one in real life, like at Guitar Center. You won't get what it's about at all from downloading the software only as a demo. NI's official videos give you a pretty good idea though if you haven't watched them already.

Man, do you just selectively ignore to read what you don't want to hear or something? Your questions have already been answered here at length. But since you're asking again, you're obviously still missing the point and perhaps just taking the piss. I thought you said yours arrived the other day?

Answer to every ? in this thread.

People have different workflows and different requirements.

People use what they want to use.

What?! No way! Everyone needs to use the same thing, and that thing is whatever I use, son! We need to keep arguing about Maschine vs. MPC vs. everything else man, otherwise we'll have to talk about BeatThang! And if we don't talk about those, then what will we complain about? What "gear mafia" will we belong to? How will we feel relevant and "official"? Everyone knows that there are no other genres of music outside of Hip Hop, and that everyone on these forums makes Hip Hop, and that Hip Hop is born out of something with MPC style pads. You can redeem yourself only if you say, "Maschine sucks" or that "It's the greatest thing ever" (even if neither are true)...otherwise you can't be a part of our thread. I don't care if your beats are any good, so long as you post in this thread and be a part of the gear hugging.

Hahah I agree, I had a funny comment posted on one of my MPC vids

"i just demo'd the maschine today, its awesome, but yep you need the computer with you, which i dont get the opposition too... im a developer and engineer too, look, the mpc has an onboard computer written in C or C++ or java on the core compiler so who gives a shit if you haul a full production pc with you for your set? the power and the size of the screen are larger than the little LCD's, i dont get this purist bias..."

Ohh wooo ohhh you don't get why I use use a MPC oh no..we must all use the same thing...thing is most engineers don't understand why you should also use a real guitar if a robot and computer sound the same lol

How is that saying "we must all use the same thing"? He's just pointing out that MPC is technically a computer running software as well.

Anyway, using Maschine is NOTHING like what using computer software was like previous to Maschine. NI understood the reason why hardware purists stay with hardware and shun computers (mouse, having to stare at the computer screen, mapping and configuring midi controllers...etc.) and finally brought the instrument-like hardware feel and workflow to computer software.

No one here is saying everyone must use a particular gear, other than MPC purists. I've been saying all along, use whatever works for you. It's just foolish to dismiss Maschine as an option just because of previous negative experiences with using another computer based setup.

nobody is.. every single member of this forum uses music software at one time or another... whether it's pro tools or cubase to record stuff, fl studio or logic to make beats... we all use it.

stop being so concerned that people might not think it's for them just because it is on a computer... those people aren't looking at this thread anyways.

as for the rest of the people who are curious.... ever thought they might want details besides "you dont gotta use a mouse or look at the computer screen" ??? how about mentioning features especially exclusive ones... why not mention stuff that matters. hearing the vague meaningless "integrated tactile workflow" shtik is getting old and boring..

so far what new features do we have:
-turning the pads into a light up step sequencer (new layout for the 16 beat step sequencer, but not really anything new... cool none the less)

get my drift? it would be nice to hear about features besides salesman talk... "seamless integration" ... "tactile hardware like workflow" ... and all that other shit. we can check out NI's youtube page for that sugar coated trash.

GTFO. Stop pretending to know or speak for what "every single member of this forum" uses or has experienced. And no, "every single member of this forum" do not all use software to make beats. And there are enough posts in this thread that indicate enough people on here "dismiss Maschine as an option just because of previous negative experiences with using another computer based setup."

Perhaps you should read the whole thread (which I assume you have since you've been bitching in this entire thread the whole time) again before you look like a fool because I have provided more information on Maschine than you are claiming.

oh right, you GTFO... I didn't say everyone uses software to make beats. I said everyone uses music software at some point (tracking out to put online or burn CD's included) try reading every line instead of picking key words out a sentence...
name me a person who doesn't on this forum... every member here has a computer... try and dispute that one.

and no, you dont list features... you blabber on the same shit over and over about maschine being an mpc killer... you have not listed even 1 single new NI invented feature. not 1 single exclusive feature.... all you did was argue that you can run everything from the controller with out looking at the screen or using a mouse. great, but that isn't a software capability and it does nothing as far as sound is concerned...

why am I bitching? because you talk nothing but salesman lines.. and then you continue to dump your salesman lines in every other thread whether it's an mpc4000 thread, or the other 2 or 3 maschine threads.... every one turned into the same crap and none of them list any features clearly.. you make one little point hidden in the middle of a 4 paragraph post regarding a feature here and there throughout a 25 page thread littered with maschine VS this and that garbage... when VS isn't even the issue.

you praise the maschine, and you know... I love the concept NI came up with. I always was a fan of NI, I own a few of their products... but instead of listing a few features and specifics that it has... you come off as a fanatic with a huge bias.
I got nothing against you man, but come on already... I am in this thread because I am interested in knowing from people on the forums a bit of info... not a single store in my city had a maschine on display even though they said they planned on setting one up but NI hasn't sent them the display models yet apparently.
