A few questions....

I've been playin w/ the mpc4000/asr-10 combo for awhile and just got an 002 to go w/ it so I got a few questions I wanna ask while I wait on my mac to arrive..this'll be the first time I've used a comp w/ my setup so bare w/ the question if they seem ignant..

1- I was told that you can control vsts w/ the mpc. How so and what
settings do I need to make.

2-w/ protools what other software can I intergrate or can I? Anything I
need to do to my mac before i set up?

come on somebody got ta know, do I need to clarify, do I even know what I'm talkin bout? I'f it's a stupid question go ahead and clown...

What part of the vst are you trying to control, I mean, if you have your midi out on your mpc set correctly you should be able to control certain parameters on your vst. For ex., I have the midi out port B going into my computer, so I set ( in the track field ) out 1 to out-b, now say I use the vst instrument B4 organ synth, now by highlighting the pgm change on the mpc I can change the B4 sound patches, I can hit the mpc pads and control sound, when I set the Q-links to transmit: control change you can control and record volume, pan, and other parameter's depending on what control change that you've selected. I hoped this has helped.

Good lookin out mang that's all I needed to know basically...since I don't have my mac runnin yet I just wanted to know if and how it was possible. That info was exactly what I was lookin for.

I messed around with Cubase and it seems its only possible to control 1 vsti? I mean, if I have several VSTi's running in Cubase doesnt matter, its the one thats selected/highlighted that plays all the midi channels in Cubase... Anyone had this problem?

I use Sonar 3 and I'm not too good with cubase, but there should be some way of selecting different midi channels, in cubase, for all your vst instruments. In Sonar 3 there's a input echo select button, which allows me to control different vst's even if they are now selected/highlighted, there should be something similar in cubase, if not there is a program from stienberg, called vst stack ( cost about $50), which I know will allow you to do that, but refer to your midi section in your manual or call stienberg to see if you can do this in cubase.
