pads wont trigger samples but works in trim and 16 levels?

ever since i loaded jjos 3.09 when the system is in main mode it wont trigger the samples when i hit the pads. the thing is when i check the sensitivity, or go into trim mode, 16 levels or tap pad tempo- all the pads respond. i reloaded akai os 2.13 and it still wont work...is this some kind of hardware failure or some unknown setting that im missing here? ive had a mpc1k in the past and currently use a mpc2xl and never had this problem.. i hooked up my mpc2xl triggering the samples through midi works..i did let my cousin borrow it for a couple weeks and when i got it back it was like this...is there something im missing?

Did you adjust the sensitivity after installing the OS?

Did you reset settings while powering on? This can lead to a lot of weird behavior if you don't do it.

i did adjust the sensitivity- when i tap the pads it shows the 127 velocity on the adjustment. as far as resetting it im positively sure that didnt happen...like i said my cousin did have it for a couple weeks but he claims he didnt change any settings...but still - i reloaded 2.13 akai os and jj 309 so settings should have resetted back to default both times after..but same outcome...

is that what holding ERASE does while powering up?

because I think I forgot to do that when I first installed JJOS, but have done it since.

check if "pad to internal" is set to OFF in the midi-settings

are you trying to load programs that were made in the other OS? because if you try to load your JJOS programs into the AKAI OS, this is exactly what will happen. if so... try making a new program from scratch and see if that works... sorry if i'm stating something obvious here...

no i loaded random files that werent set up in a program to the pads...but i also loaded the stock card and still didnt work. alot of weird things started happenning- sometimes the midi wont work when trying it from my 2k, sometimes when i power it on the screen is waaaaaaay dim, and the scroll wheel has significant lag..none of these probs happenned before i loaded the 3.09. but stays consistent with the current akai os now too

re install jjos and then do a rest on power up!

do you get sound from the headphone jack? i'm thinking maybe the outputs setting were changed at some point? if the pads are responding in every way other than sound coming out, then they're definitely not broken... you either need to install the OS from scratch and ERASE all settings... or find which setting it is that's keeping sound from coming out.
