Man, you know I'm thinking It might be a good idea to get another 512c, but I usually just track drums, and bass mono. Stuff I would track stereo like some pad sounds, or ambiance type sounds I think I might want something with a little more range in texture like the Purple Biz. So maybe two Purple biz's and one 512c. Then work on getting some comp and eq.

Well maybe with all the new growth in the 500 frame more people will see the advantage of being able to buy as you can afford it.
People buy lots of stuff like the Presonus stuff, Focusrite Platinum, Mackie Onyx etc without ever considering how cost effective the 500 route can be in the grand scheme of things.

You can really pull off a killer channel strip that would really break the bank in its 19" form.

yeah definitely. and with that Radial Workhorse 5000 coming out soon, it should be more affordable to grab a lunchbox and stock it with modules. plus Radial plans to infest the market with like 24 modules later in the year, so i'm gettin real interested in it now.

the modular aspect of it is definitely one of the most attractive features, and all it all that whole route is just a huge space saver. you can have 8 modules in a 3 rack space or somethin ya know?

but yeah excited to see all this new sh*t comin out now, just gotta save up before i get hooked

rails on that thing don't supply enough voltage for good neve clones from what i remember reading.

Plus lunchbox is priiiiiceeeyyy

if you are just needing pres i think sca is the way to go !

The Seventh stuff has had mixed results.
They pretty much lose their appeal unless you want to assemble them yourself.
You couldn't get the pre-assembled units and the part sourcing for the kits was less than desirable.


There has been so many new directions in the 500 frame you can now pull off pretty much anything you desire.
Even companies like Empirical Labs have jumped in the game.
The prices are leveling now as the competition and growth are slowly creating a more standard market perspective.
Even newer more cost effective lunchboxes are showing up.

The 500 frame is definitely the one to watch.

Lunchboxes aren't too expensive if you look around...$300 for a used 6 slot and power supply seems to be a normal price...

mixed reviews on the sca ? I think you are mistaken

I've gone thru numerous reviews by users of these pres pm'ed many ppl about them


No one had anything bad to say about the n72

also for 100 more u can buy the module pre assembled

u also don't have to source parts the kit comes with everything u need
u seem to have a lot of misinformation about sca the kits, because u think that the parts must be purchased separtely

furthermore the voltage on the rails of a lunchbox will NEVER support a neve clone



Sca has so many of the standard pres cloned neve API jensen that u can get all those classic flavors for a lot less


If u need eq compressors sure lunchbox is better but for just pres


U cannot beat the price of sca


And if u want neve pre sound ... Forget about lunchbox
