Layering

Does anybody layer their chops with the same chops that has been filtered or EQ'd for example in the MPC Or is it the same if you just EQ'd and compressed the original chop to get a Phat warm layered sound?

For low end theory bass I layer the sample with a filtered version. I just copy the program and pattern to a new track. Apply lp filter on the copyed program and hp filter on the original loop. Fast and effective.

In the s950 I copy the keygroups of the sample, assign it to another output and mix and blend it together on the mixing board.

Sometimes I seperate a sample in a left and right version, do some tweaks and layer it.
