I'll pay $ for a Service Manual/Schematic for the MPC 5000

No. For every model there is a service manual that has a schematic for that particular MPC. There are diagrams for how to take the machine apart and put it back together. It includes listings for all the part numbers etc. It's not as easy to find as a regular manual because companies generally discourage people from doing their own repairs. On these forums I was able to find one for every model except the 5000 by searching the terms "service manual" and "schematic" under the corresponding thread. Generally it is an individual who will post it on a file upload/download site such as "sendshare" or "megaupload". There is also a thread on this forum that contains links to some of the service manuals but half of the links are dead and the 5000 was never on it to begin with. If someone has their hands on a service manual and is willing to post it up as a PDF it will be a great help to those of us who want to repair our own machines rather than bringing them to an Akai "specialist". It would also result in many helpful posts by people like myself who will gain knowledge of how to fix certain problems without having to pay a repair person. There are threads in these forums by people who have replaced parts on other models and they are incredibly helpful and save the other users time and money. Thanks for getting involved in this thread BxJaze. Any help is appreciated.

Yes, also I am interested in a schematic & service manual. Didn't know there was one released.

maybe if we knew who released the service manuals from other models to the public they could be contacted to see if they have the 5000 manual. Somebody had to get the previous models and let them out.

i dont think that is what they want the service manual for... lets say you want to change the jog wheel because the sensor is messed up or you want to replace an internal part that is busted... well you cant just put any old replacement part in there. You need to know what part or the specs of the part to replace it. that is the kind of stuff a service manual would have and a whole lot more.

Mr Debauch's replies are right on. It's a matter of finding an individual who has access to this sort of material. If someone knows a technician who would be willing to scan this document and pass it on as a PDF, that would be amazing. Youtube videos serve a purpose but they're not even 5% as informational and helpful as a service manual. A service manual is a wealth of information that will eventually save users a great deal of time and money. I've put in some time searching sites that sell schematics, but no luck yet. Until then, most of us are at the mercy of "specialists" who will overcharge us for repairs that could be done by the owner with a small amount of basic info (part numbers, connections, etc). Many people will also be dependent on foolishly overpriced retailers like "MPC Stuff" which makes money by overcharging for basic parts that can be purchased dirt cheap from an electronics site or ebay.
