Mine keeps freezing but only when I use the SCSI zip drive. BTW what cable was loose inside your unit (do you have the rack or KB version)?

AFAIK the optional extra memory of an EPS is build in a cardridge expansion and be plugged to a port at the back of the unit.
So I guess the standard memory chips are soldered in somewhere in the machine (no ram sticks)

Well you have both right?
I would open up the rack cause it has standard full expanded memory. I would look how it is done in this machine (what kind of memory chips etc) and maybe try to recreate it in the keyboard version :) Of course that can **** up the machine so get all infos you can get on net about this topic (datasheets, service manual etc) before you heat up the sodering-iron

Would be nice to have some pics of the inside of both machines. Or maybe someone could take some pics of the opened memory expansion cardridge.

the problem on the keyboard, is that the memory thing is like a nintendo game... it isnt just standard issue scsi, as far as i can tell...

Ill probably get into the eps 16 rack sometime soon.

pimping out my s6000 this week though.

i had a similar glitch with my EPS classic and when thesoniq repaired it he said my KVC board (keyboard velocity calibration?) was fried amongst anything else. My malfunctions started with the sound glitching and then no longer calibrating at boot up. Now all my switches are good and I go nuts with this board.
