thanks Freedom, keep us updated :)

yo Seight, that's cool, we are all learning something from somebody at one point or the other and the MPC 4000 is a bit complicated,
I learn a lil' bit more aout the machine everytime I boot it up, i think it's really a great piece of equipment but it needs some time to fully understand it

we're here to help each other out, so don't be afraid to ask...

Peace

Does anyone know if the Samplekings DVD is available for download on Kazaa or somewhere? Just so I can see if it worth buying.

Yeah, I checked it out but, it is hard to tell whether the quality is good. Is the camera work shakey? Is there a lot of background noise that distracts from the video? that's what I want to know. I don't want to pay that much money for something with bad production. So if anyone has seen it let me know.

I own the vhs version of the MPC 4000 video and

I tell you the only thing I really liked in the video where the samples he gave me that where blatantly chopped from oldc 80's shit hahahahah....\

It was like an 808 kick and a rimshot hahah and a drum loop break that is old but worthy......

I mean I got the video before my MPc 4000 arrived and I already new all the shit in the video cause I spent days reading the manuals like a freak before every touching the mpc 4000...

THe guy sits down in a chair with sunglasses on...So thats why I made my video like that...

hahha

He basically tells you everything in the manual ohh yea he is using the old version of the mpc...
os 5. something....

I wouldn't knock it cause i know tons of catz who bought it..

Basically I have bought tons of how to videos and DVDs and they all dont tell you what you want..
THey show you how to do it and thats it...

What I want in a DVD... Is a feature where you can smoke with the teacher. And then he will tell you all the secrets hehehe...
Smopke By that I mean Marijauna..
And by that I mean have you ever watched a DVD high?

So Iam still at work but I called my friend and got the info...

I had to leave my MPC 4000 in his studio for 2 days so be gratefull I lost my baby for awhile....

what we found out...

frequency response are determined by sampling rate
24-bit/96 kHz, with a frequency response of 10 Hz to 44 kHz

24-bit/48 kHz, with a frequency response of 10 Hz to 20 kHz.

also
its distortion is less than 0.003% (at 1 kHz, when sampling at 48kHz).

Overall there really where no obvious spikes in the signal and that all the graphs looked more flat not as dynamic...
Sensitivity to the higher frequencies is more significant than ideal flat response overall since much of the highs are lost in further sound processing.

The tests where wierd... We kept calling akai to find out if there where using delta 9 signal converters...

So basically this means we will be running more tests...

It showed us that when running flat freq it does well..
But when you add a high and low and mid it has a mudd toward 1k-3k...
Fixable ..

Overall Iam happy with the results
Aloha

the quality is suprisingly good, you can see the screen real well. but what pisses me off is your tryin to concentrate on whats going on his screen then all of a sudden the camera will switch over to a clip of him pressing a button....lol

its real random and annoying too

but you might want to second guess buying the Next Level version because Freedoms video went over Qlink WAYYYY better then them.. they did a good job but freedoms tutorial sh1ts all over them

also on the next level they go over some pretty basic things even though its titled "next level". you'll probably know everything covered

its a good video just to have though, ya know?

Give me some topics to answer...

Tell me some things you would want in a video and it will be done my friend

 If you do another video maybe you could continue with some more intermediate to advanced topics. Like automating certain features in the 4k. Using the Program edit windows effectively with LFOs ect..., advanced midi setups and templates, using swing effectively, aksys tutorials would be hot.... if I think of anything else I'll post it
