i took my mpc out this morning, it had no memory card in it. put it on the table, pop the card in and turn it on.

the 128mb installed screen comes on, but then it just stays green and nothing else shows up. when i take the card out and turn it on, it runs normally. if i turn it on without the card in and then put it in, the font on the screen disappears and goes blank green. the card does not come out as easily also. it sorta sticks in there (i have to grab it with my fingernails to pull it out)

do i just need a new cf card? or a drive? or what?? any help would be appreciated!

look inside your card drive... it sounds like you forced a card in there the wrong way and bent one of the pins inside the drive... straighten that pin out and you'll be good to go.

shine a flashlight into the card slot and see if that's the case...

you don't take the drive out. just look in there to see what's up first... [or did you mean the card itself is stuck? if so keep pulling it while pressing the eject button]

if a pin is bent, you would then stick something thin in there to bend it back into place... shouldn't be too hard at all.

if they're actually broken off, then yes.. you would definitely need to replace the reader. they're more likely to bend than break though... you must have really shoved that card in there the wrong way...

yeah i dunno how it happened. i dont remember jamming it in there, maybe my roommate or someone else did. shit happens tho, how much would a new reader run me?
