Youtube digging

Hey,

I know its LAME, but since I live in Finland and dont have access to these ultra rare soul records, I decided that "whats available" wins "being real" this time. Besides, there are real soul heads uploading rare records in youtube.
Anyone else with me?

Yep. Atleast to check out what to dig for know what I mean? I just went vinyl shopping and knew I wanted some Lou Rawls cause I heard him on YouTube.

you could always order the vinyl online from overseas and then replace your youtube samples with better versions later

Yep, some of those records cost a fortune though What I was thinking that I could try to contact the uploader and ask for straight from vinyl loseless .WAV

dudes in foreign countries need to dig for shit in thier country! cause thats what dudes in the usa are lookin for! we always lookin for some rare shit from other countries and you already there! none of us americans can speak or read other languages besides english, so if its some foreign record it makes it that much harder to find shit unless you actually there in person pickin and listening. to us foreign shit is more rare, diggin aint just about rare soul, it aint even about rare, its about good music and finding shit nobodys heard!

yeah man, when I dig... I rarely even look at soul records. I am into old film soundtracks (live orchestra versions preferably).. I also like eastern european folk records and things of that nature.

there is no right way to digg whether its through crates or youtube searches.
as long as your production skills are on point who cares.
its like hardware production vs software production, does it matter?

Because MPC's and Records are Hip Hop, and everything else sucks.

I have to agree with this. I've been diggin' records since 1992, and right now I'm at a point where I've heard it all and tired of the same jazz and garage bands. It was back in 2006 when I first took a chance on a foreign record from India, the dudes on the cover looked third world dirt poor and I was like "why not". It had stuff on there RZA would be proud to flip. Since then I've been hitting up websites and making friends overseas to get my hands on some unheard and unknown records from the Earth's East Side.

Right now, what I dig from the U.S. is old underground movie soundtracks from the 60s and 70s.
