To each his own. I prefer them over other headphones I've used and they hold up well, but you shouldn't mix with them as pound said.

These shits will bake your ears if you listen too loud for too long, but you could probably flail them into a vehicle, cause an accident that ends in a massive explosion, and fetch them from the burning debris, plug them in and finish listening to a tune. Durable and good enough for vocalists.

The way I do it is just by laying on my side and having my wife pour a few dabs of peroxide in my ear. You can hear and feel when its done. Its really weird at first but you will notice a difference. If you've never been to an ENT before you might want to have them do the first cleaning. You will be surprised (and grossed out) by whats deep in there hahaha

Yep. Also allowing warm water to slightly enter and exit the ear canal when showering or such in between cleaning with peroxide or ear wax removal solutions will help remove forming wax and/or loosen it which makes it easier to clean when you do get around to periodically using peroxide. Otherwise you may have to use the peroxide in several sittings if you wait too long in between cleaning intervals.

warm water is good also. i use the "pump it in your ears by yourself" method once a year. its incredible the amount of blob you can see comin out!

anyway i feel comfortable with the 7506.
i never mix on headphones, mostly use em for composin late at night, or for vocalists , or for recordin' my flute, or for monitoring audio recording for videos\tv on the spot with a sennheiser mkh 416 p48.

thanks for all the responses. I was suspecting they were gonna get a good response, since ive heard alot of good about them before.

i will be using them for makin beats late night and recording, and probably a little mixing late night.

so far my experience with them has been sweet, i only used them one day on wednesday when i got them, and i enjoyed them, sound was really good. I made a crazy beat that im anxious to hear when i get home!! maybe not the best who knows but def good enough. Its always about the finishin touch at the end of day

feelin real nice about this purchase!

but pouring peroxide in my ear is just sounding funny to me right now lol

you said every six months right?

sometimes when i use a q-tip i can seriouly notice the difference in sound! that wax can get pretty thick!

i wonder what wonders this peroxide can do! probably alot

The pleather ear pads do go after a few years which is normal on most headphones with that material but the good thing is they are replaceable on the Sony..BUT the good thing is you can replace them with Beyer velour ear pads which are a sh*t load more comfortable.

where does one get those replacements?


Replace with Beyer spare part no:
EDT 250 V Ear pads, velours,
circumaural . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Order # 942.704

Any Beyer stockist should be able to help you, they are for the DT-250 but fit the Sony's fine

shit, there was a thread on here about what headphones are good to mix with and like 5 people recommended these.. i did a little research and then got them, cause i don't have monitors... whatever they'll do

They are not a bad closed back headphone, you could of done a lot worse and also much better imo than some cheap monitors with no room acoustic treatment.
But I would still recommend some monitors to work on then check em through the headphones, I find working on headphones very tiring.
