I have someone that wants to sell me a sp12 turbo for 500 bucks...

What all do I have to test when I test it to make sure its all OK.

Seller made mention of the "turbo" part not working, so the sampling time was not expanded.

how do I test the sample memory via the screen (OS)

How do I know if the Turbo part has been removed... if I open it up.

THANKS!! QUICK ANSWERS NEEDED EVEN IF THEY ARE SHORT

do headphones work ok enough to test all of the outputs?

also,

i was just reading something about the machine having two "users" in the sampling screen?

is this one for the onboard and one for the turbo memory?

Thanks

be aware that on the outputs there are different filters....so 1 sounds quite muffled, 2 a little less and so on.....7 and 8 has no filter

not sure what u mean by users

users, it looks like the additional 2.5 seconds that make it a turbo or whatever has user1, and user2 on the sample screen?

how many seconds does a standard sp12 have vs a turbo.

thanks for the answers!

Turbo=5secs & 1200=10secs

SP12 = 1.2 sec.

you store the samples on usr1 -> usr 8

highest os version is 2.6

ahhh.

got it.

so if this thing works, but only has 1.2 sec, and doesnt say turbo on load,

its just a sp12

if it works, and says turbo, but the max sample time is 1.2, then something is wrong with the turbo mod, but the thing has the newest firmware?

either way, would you guys pay 500 for it, comes with the floppy drive and a bunch of disks.

i would save up another $500 and get a busted 1200... and if i cant find a busted 1200 then keep saving money for a mint one or when i find a busted one ill have money to fix it up...

$500 on 1.2 secs isn't really a good idea and not like the sp12 stocks sounds are anything to go crazy over... now if it was a 909 or 808 than that's a different story...

keep saving you never know what might come up...

I wouldn't. I paid more for my Turbo, but 1.2 sec is not enough sampling time for me.
By Boomshanka Tue Apr 13, 2010 6:01 pm
i only need 0.03 secs

if you speed up drums, and sample one shots, then pitch down, isnt that kindof enough time though, for kick, snare high hat, open hat, and bass note?
