crossings wrote:i did a search just a few weeks ago and contacted Tone from this thread regarding these wooden side panels... they might seem a bit pricey at first [since our US dollar is worthless], but the craftsmanship here is amazing!

they just arrived in the mail today, so i went ahead and snapped a couple pics. i thought i'd do him the favor of bumping this thread to let you all know that these are still available and well worth the money. he kept me posted with the status of my order all the way from creation to the day they were sent... so i gotta say thanks, Tone! keep me posted if you ever make that wooden jog wheel...

anybody got an idea about how much an all wood casing would cost? I'm talking totally ditching the black cover and using all wood...maybe an armrest type thing like other mpc's? is this possible? i think that would look crazy!

woooah like maybe a metal top chassis that screws in to a wooden boxed frame. and all the electronics are just screwed in to the wood err what have ya... got me thinking

that would have to be some really thin wood though... and therefore would probably break too easily. i have thought about the armrest idea though... and that's do-able and may not be a bad idea now that we're seeing threads with the paint apparently coming off of where you lay your hands on the mpc2500.

I wouldn't replace the metal top plate, but you could definitely veneer it with some nice wood. If that was your thing.

I like the sides and would do walnut sides plus an armrest for mine if I was going to go that route...

really like the way these side panels look, very "linn drum".

are these available anywhere? the "pimp-my-mpc.com" site no longer exists, and while i like the look of the wood kits sold by mpc-stuff, i like these better. i don't really want the arm rest on the front.

if anyone could point me towards these, i'd be super grateful.

I have dropped the pimp-my-mpc website, but I am still around if people really want more end cheeks.

I just noticed your posts were from 2009 (someone bumped the topic). But I'm glad you're still making wood sides for the 2500, which are the best I've seen yet.
Have you ever got around to making wood sides for the 1000?
I bought the one's from mpc-stuff and they're cool. But I'd like to see how your designs came out if you had made them.
