assigning pads to external sampler

anybody know how to assign pads to play external sampler. I have the midi situation covered, been triggering from the external sampler and sequencing on the mpc, but I'd like to trigger on mpc instead.

Obviously- midi out from MPC to midi in on sampler. Set the midi channel on your current MPC sequence track to the right channel for the sampler.

It is best to alter the midi notes that the sounds in the sampler are set to so they correspond with the midi note numbers the mpc pads are assigned to, rather than try and change the midi note numbers the MPC sends out. You can see what number a particular pad is set to when you press it in step edit mode. Then change the midi number for the sound in your sampler to that.

Let us know what sampler you have so someone can give more detailed advice.

awesome, thanks for the tip.. I'm using an eps16 with the mpc.

when I first tried it, I set the notes the other way around from how you described. saw what midi note the mpc was seeing when I triggered from the eps, while in step edit mode, and tried to set some pads to those midi notes, but it didn't work. I'll try changing the midi note on the eps instead...
