you forgot one part about that thread in your summary... mpd_mpk_ray never showed up to turn it into a 3 way battle between maschine, mpc, and motu bpm... since similar battles of recent times have had 3 sides, for example: xbox360 vs ps3 vs wii.

oh yeah and we learned that drag-n-dropping samples into maschine from the mpc and real time pitch shifting can all be done with one single button push since the maschine version 1.5 came out.

edit: you edited out your summary... so never mind on my part also.. O.o

Shhh! I edited it out, after I realized my post could be seen as fuel to some people like red soda is fuel to hyper active toddlers. :D

I guess it shouldn't rile them up too far if they know it's a joke. Here it is (remember this was only humor, people!). I take no sides.

The longest Maschine thread ever was recently ousted from these forums, and it starts again? The OP probably wasn't aware of this and didn't intend to start the drudgery over again though, so. Here's the short version...

"Maschine sucks, is a marketing ploy and is a controller with fast software that is inept" and "A MPC is an old slow archaic controller, makes toast and has software that is inept". The Maschine and MPC are so different in their similar differences that they deserve a new thread every month discussing such. You have to choose a side in the drum machine Armageddon to make it to Boom Bap or Unk Unk heaven. Emptysea does not work for NI, and Aksia does not work for Akai. Jesus is a fish. Edward Norton and Brad Pitt are actually the same person. The chick he's banging in Old Boy is his daughter. Energy drinks makes you kiss dudes. Having to say "No homo" actually means you're homo, at least to non homos. Everything you read on the internet is true, because opinions equal fact on the internet. Hamburgers contain no swine nor crayons. Gold letters mean the end is near. No credit, low credit, bad credit...viewing the Beautiful Women thread will instantly improve your machismo which will trickle into other successes. The search function is where Yoda lives. People who text on phones in the middle of a conversation deserve to be crushed by a pride of obese people. The blood in film is never the correct color. Maschine is the German word for MPC. Text means nothing without smilies. :o

Got it?
Kidding. End sarcasm.

That Maschine thread that disapeared was actually "lame" compared to the heated debates we have had here in the forums. It was actually more civil than 90% of the debates around here. The entire MPC 5000 forum is terrible and not much has been done at all to clean it up. ??? We have the JJ Forum where no negative talk about the OS is permitted. Than there is the MPC 5000 forum where negative talk is the rule.....

Back to Maschine? Or maybe not.

Admin can't catch everything, if you guys/girls see something way wrong use the report feature so we see it right off the bat. Take control of your community. I can bring back the original thread if you guys want just stop with all the hate though.

Sure, why not? I'm sure we could all use a few more helpings of that redundant crap. I'll take two scoops of homegrown biased opinions and bandwagon naysayers...with a dash of gear Nazi, just to add variety. Thanks. Mmm....tastes just like....NO THANKS!

It's different strokes for different folks. The maschine wasn't what I expected it to be. I've recently been considering picking up a Midi cable and seeing if I would like ableton. I don't have the money for that though, I just bought some new headphones and I'm about to get an expensive ATA case for my decks. In my personal experience the maschine didn't provide me with significant enough features to change over from the mpc. Old habits die hard.

why not cop it next year, aren't they constantly updating it?

Thats my thought, to just wait til an update that has enough features to get me sold on it. In the meantime, I'll fux with it at a nearby GC.

How much time did you give yourself with it? I'm digging deeper into it and I have to admit it does more of the things I want fast and fluently. Things I've wished I could do on my 3000 for some time now. But I'm not bout to jump and sell my baby to regret it later so I'm trying to incorporate it too.

I used it for a little less than a month. I had to decide before the month was up whether or not to return it.
