Maschine is nice a good two weeks now under my belt and learning the lingo. I`m still working with 1.1OS til 1.5 is official. Over the weekend I use it within Logic and it was so smooth just make a pattern convert it in a instant and drag it as audio into the tracks. Getting away from tracking was one thing I was looking for.

Still I haven`t use it as a midi controller except for Ableton Live. I`m getting around to it.

The 4k assignment of mute groups and polyphony is definitively faster than maschine though. And the 4k have more zone parameters and banks. But maschine is faster initially to work with. It is a groovemachine and I like it.

I`m glad I got rid of my MPD24, skip the APC40, and pass on the 5k for Maschine. 8)

Yo in Maschine it can use VSTs right? Like I got a bunch of nice Waves plugins like compressors and EQ's and shit I wanna use but I'm not sure Maschine can use it.

No, you can't use VST plugins in Maschine. But you can use Maschine as VST Instrument.

Are they going to incorporate VST's into a update or something? for me that is the deciding factor because I want to be able to mix everything in Maschine.

Maschine is meant to be a plugin in your DAW not the other way around. What DAW are you using?

There's no statement from NI regarding VST plugins. There are many requests though, so who knows one day...

In the meanwhile use Maschine as VSTi in your VST host and/or apply the VST plugins to audio tracks.

If I used it as a VST or VSTi would i be able to apply other VST's to the tracks in Maschine? Like compress a snare or EQ a kick? Sorry if thats a dumb question.

The Maschine VSTi has 8 stereo outputs, so for example you can send your bassdrum to output 1, your snare to output 2, your group B (various samples) to output 3, etc. I assume FL Studio supports VSTi's with multiple outputs.

hit programs goto zone set to all, from there you can set mute groups, polyphony, one shots, filters, envelopes the whole nine to all the samples within a particular pragram aka group for maschine useful for phrase and multisamples. Maschine setting as far as I figure I have to change each sound and assign individually slow in comparsion and less parameters too.

But it is good for a groovebox just wouldn't say maschine is a workstation unit.
