Need some ideas from the DJ's around here! Need a mixer

Have a look for a used Stanton SMX-501. Should be pretty cheap, sturdy, full size & p&g faders.

A used Allen&Heath Xone 62 mk2's go for peanuts now days..nice mixer

Just in case any one is wondering there ain't no mk2 of the 62 the mk1 was chrome, had the master out on faders like a studio console instead of a knob, had big ugly rubber knobs and a few other things

I've had one for the last 5 years - no problems. They are dirt cheap, there's one on eBay in the UK for £50 - it has been listed before and no one bid so you would probably get it for the starting price if he'll ship to USA. There's one on eBay USA starting at $0.99 - see how that goes.

VESTAX VMC VESTAX 004 XL black - This mixer is great. It sounds warm and feels solid. trust me. Check specs online. And it's not going to cost you $1000. That's **** crazy.

So what was the outcome of your mixer dilema? Did you get what you wanted in the end?

I've been rockin' 4 channel Pioneer's for years but I recently switched to a Rane TTM 56S.

So far so good!

maaaaaaaaaan, you know what? I'm actually STILL working with that little Denon! After getting used to it, I'm used to the small size now, but the sound isn't what I'm after-I'd like something with better gain staging... a normal sized mixer would really be nice too, but the size isn't the issue with this one now...it's the sound I'm not crazy about!

yeah...I've heard/read great things about the rane line up, but I think that's a bit over my pay grade unless I can cop a cheap one on the bay...

well i've always had NuMark's myself........

nothing too fancy nor too expensive. And they've been pretty darn reliable. Been mixing the wax for 13+ years. And I've owned only 3 "DJ" mixers.........

I just skimmed over this and read "pay grade" as "gay parade"!!

Anyway, I think the choice becomes quite limited if you want nice build quality, top faders and great sound. The Rane ticks all the boxes but I had to go out on a limb to get it. For some weird reason it's £700 over here but I got it from Germany for £550. Nice.
