How Can I record a sequence/song directly into acid

Hi, lately I have been making some pretty kick ass beats but I would really like to drop each track into a grid in either Acid Pro 4.0 or Soundforge 4.5. I've tried recording right into Acid but whenever I lsiten to the audio afterwards it sounds extremely choppy. Will I be needing a new sound card???I'm not positive how to check how good mine is

You probably need to change your drivers depending on your soundcard. I believe Acid works best with ASIO drivers and your sound card may be set to WDM drivers. This can be set from the preferences icon at the top of your Acid toolbar. Make sure you are recording to an audio track and not a midi track. Also check your meter peaks to make sure you aren't clipping when you record.

ALso try opening your soundcard's control panel and make sure the drivers match with Acid's drivers, after you check Acid's driver mode. (ASIO, WDM, or MME) If it doesn't work, try the other available drivers that show up for both.
