Problem saving sequence to zip disc newbie user

Hey I'm new to the forum and recently bought a mpc2000 classic a month ago. I have read the manual and messed with the mpc for a while now. I am having a problem though, so i'm recording a sequence. I lay down the drums, hi hat and then the sample. So I finish my beat and I like it so I want to save it but the way it says in the manual isnt working for me.

I have basically tried everything and cant figure out a way to save it on a zip disc so I can transfer it to my computer. Someone please help?

There's no 1 wav file of your beat to transfer to computer like you are thinking (1k, 500, 4k, 5k, 2500 can. By recording the main output into a single wav file that can be played on computer).

Keeping it simple you'll have to record your 2k/2kxl mpc main outs to computer line/aux in.

3k, 60, 60ii, 2kxl and 2k cannot save a wav file of your whole beat like the above mentioned samplers.

Appreciate the help. Not sure if I'm right but so I have to use the midi cable and connect it to the computer?

you usually are fine to do this, but you need two drives.

one that is DB25 scsi (channel selectable, terminatable)

that one plugs to your mpc.

then you need a USB zip, or internal zip...

Some of the issues I have run into doing it this way arise in PC, where the zip drive can't be seen in "my computer" or it is seen, but when you try to access it, it says please insert disk

Macs always work.

i have an old G4 that has the internal zip, and i can save beats on the ready.

also, I have heard that as long as you put a device between your computer and your mpc, such as a zip drive, or a hard drive, you can save to zip, then access the same drive from your computer.

not at the same time, and only if your computer has a 25pin scsi connecter.

I also have a usb zip drive too. How do I save it as a zip because I cant find a way to locate it once I hook it up to my computer.

When I save the sequence to the scsi and then put the disc into the computer, I click on the sequence and it is NOT what I recorded. Its like some piano sounds. What am I doing wrong?

Midi is not audio, you will never hear audio from a midi cable, never.

Mpc audio main outs to computer/soundcard/audio interface line in/aux in.
Record the mpc main outs into an audio program, save/render as a wav file.
You can now listen to that file (ur complete beat you recorded from mpc).

Oh, ok. So what audio program should I use? And what do I use to connect the mpc audio outs to the computer?
