What is the 8 outs expander for?

I just got an MPC for the first time and it comes with the 8 outs, but I'm only going to need the standard 2 (L/R) to record out to my laptop, and I see these expanders going for over $100 on ebay. Are they easy to remove, or could I risk damaging the unit?

What are some reasons to keep it?

Stop telling me to read the manual. If you don't know the answer, fine, but if you do, and just choose not to tell me, then stop commenting on all my threads.

Don't sell it, because you might regret it someday. At this moment you seem to be happy with doing all the mixing inside your MPC, but who knows one day you might want to mix outside your MPC. I remember the first studio session with my S2000 that didn't have the 8 output expansion board at that time. It took an hour to track all the sounds to the ADAT (yes, it was that long ago :mrgreen:). Then I knew I had to get the 8 output expansion board.

What a lazy little brat, read the manual and stop expecting to be spoon fed. You're lucky lamp just doesn't lock your threads and send you on your way :roll:

TRUST me he knows the answer but you clearly don't want to man up and invest a little time in yourself. Coming here expecting people to do that for you ain't gonna work....instead of waiting for an answer you don't like use the search feature and find the answer that has been covered countless times...

agreed.

also reading the manual your own self teaches you more aspects then just the thing you wanted to know.. It can even answer questions you didn't know you'd ask.
