Post your views and questions about the Akai MPC2500

i just got my mpc 2500 and i had a sandisk ultra 2 cf card and i went to install the new os and some how my power went out while i was doin this so now when i restart up the mpc it says os error then goes to a screen that says mpc2500 0s update
insert memory card when i do it says wrong card and remains at this screen what can i do about this

thanks but it did not help i went and got a cf card reader would i have to open the zip folder on the os update for when i put it in the mpc for the update im workin on a mac if anyone could help me i wanna get my mpc up and running

Yes, you have to extract the .bin file from the zipped folder. The .bin file must also be on the root of the drive. Also, I think there are issues with the MPC having trouble recognizing some compact flash cards when trying to use the aforementioned method of updating.

well im workin on wit a 4 gb sandisk ultra 11 it wont work all the time any idea's of what cf card i should get and would i put the os on the card then put it in the mpc restart and window?

According to the Akai website: "Storage: Compact Flash: Type-II, support up to 2GB card," so your 4gb card may be the reason why the MPC isn't recognizing the card.

Hi, i have the same problem...
For install the OS i need usa the original AKAI 128MB compact flash...
With the other CF dont work...

im goin today to find a 2 gb card and put the os on it too see if it works
but if not how long does it take akai to fix ppl shit i still have a year warrenty

if you ever have this problem hitt up staples get a 2 gb card and a cf reader load os and pop that **** in the mpc boom there it go
