MPC 2000 Classic, more than 3 samples to cut eachother?

Hello,

So I want to make my samples cut eachother, and so far I can only make 3 samples to work that way. (Open Window in the Program MONO field, there is 2 slots). IS there a work-around for this? I have 1.50 OS.

well I suggest putting a blank pad in there...

like d-16 or something that you for sure wont use. you might need to assign a sample to that pad at first just so you can set it as a mute button but then after once you put it in your sequence you can just turn it back to OFF in params..

Ok, I try to figure that out,

How about note off feature? Does it go smoothly and leave no gaps If I use timing? And there is step edit right? So I can set note offs to go smoothly??

well play around with it man.. you will see the result as soon as it loops around and plays back the sequence.


yeah basically what i meant above is.. you have a pad to cut off the other sample right (as normal) but in this case the pad doing the cutting wont make any noise.. it will just do the cut-off.

Are you trying to get the pads to stop playing each time a new pad is pressed? If so, I think you would just set it to "monophonic" like any synth.

Ya you'll be able to extend your samples in step edit if its all choppy

Yes, my each chop is already mono and each can cut 2 external chops. Too bad I havent found a mono group, which would save a lot of time for me

There are no mono groups in 2k/2kxl.
No such thing as mono groups anyway.

There are no mute groups in 2k/2kxl.
Only mute assign.

You have note off to look into also.

What are mono groups, is that the same monophonic?

What is Note OFF?

Thanks for the links but do those apply to 2000 or just 2000xl?

I found where you can use mono setting on page 126 of the xl manual but I don't know if thats the same for 2000?

In another one of your threads I gave you the link to the 2k manual, did you see it yet?
Or if you have the mpc right then and there you can try it ans find out.

Thanks guys, I think im going to stick with the Note Off feature. 8)
It does what I need, and as I learn the machine, there is still more tweaking to be found, so I can get perfect results.
I love this thing!

Also, I can do the 16 decay, with will shorten my chops. There is a lot of ways!
