Things I'd love to see in XL 1.31

* Live Song Record

Start Live Song Record, hit play and then switch through your sequences and make mutes 'on the fly'. I usually do this all through the 'TRACK MUTE' screen when recording into my DAW, but it'd be nice to have it all recorded into a Song on the mpc.

* Extract a single chop from a non-destructive chopped sample

* Metronome ON/OFF switch

* In TRIM make it so that hitting PAD6 to audition your sample doesn't move the cursor from END:xxxxxxxx to START:xxxxxxxx. I find this so annoying! Now that PAD7 plays the sample in reverse you have to use PAD8 instead which is even worse.

1. Add Input Filter, FX, and Pitchshift in Record Mode (a short-cut to sample through filters and FXs!)
2. SEQ Edit Mode. Pressing Do It should not take you to Main Screen (this is a bug)
3. Program Mode. Moving cursor to Tune will turn on window key. Pressing window key, nothing happens. (this is a bug)
4. Trim Mode. Press Q1 and DATA wheel will adjust sample start. Press Q2 and DATA wheel will adjust sample end.
5. TRIM Mode. Press UNDO to undo previous sample edit.
6. Edit P. Change names (Grand Piano, Brite Piano, Elec Grand Piano) to whatever you want
a. Save (and Load) Midi Program Change settings (Bank select, MSB, LSB, and P. Change data); if these settings can be saved/loaded from a text file, it would be similar to loading/saving patch scripts.
b. Display MIDI P. Change names on Main Screen in Pgm Field.
7. Add Tune field to main screen



Just to name a few small enhancements.

1) Simple AD-Envelope for Drums (as an option) or different shape of the decay phase of current ADSR
2) Improved INST Program edit (Parameter "tune" should not switch to "C_3 60" every time a new sample is selected)
3) Additional parameter "Tune" in pattern mode (just like in OS2)

Also--

*When using non-desctrutive chop, and then create program shortcut-- The new program should be automatically named after the sample that was chopped, not an arbitrary name like it does now.

1. The ability to record midi data and the corresponding audio for that midi at the same time
2. The ability to record Pad Locate performances.
3. Pad mutes
4. The ability to toggle loop abilities of a sample in GPE mode

Yeah, thats a good one! And i think it's pretty realistic to get that in jjos

ability to change note (tune) for long samples realtime during playback...:
1)i have long sample of strngs (C2)
2)i hit the pad to engage playback so the sample is playing
3)i hit another pad (ex. E2)
4)the tune of the sample will change without starting the sample over so the note of the sample is changed (like Yamaha rs7000 style.....)

* Os2,
with controls mode + pad 7/11 of (OS1)
flow of control, amp, filter, etc ... (XL)

* More control change (CC)

* Listen on the 1 bar edit: A B C D banks. (Not a single bank)
suggesting the flow in the grid as os2, with a bit of OS1 (event)

The pad hit also assigns that CHOP to that PAD number!
This can be used in non-destructive and destructive mode.

This is a feature I have been wanting Akai and JJ to implement in an OS update. The Fantom G and I believe the MV has something very similar. And pretty much all software DAWs has this feature. But as you suggested above, I would like to see this function in both destructive and non-destructive chopping modes.

However, I would probably like use of the F keys to add slice markers.

I would be happy to use the F KEYS,
as long as you can chop in destructive and non-destructive mode.

In load screen to load a sample...

Use Play Start to play sequence.
Use Play to play the sample.
