Tapuno, if you dont know how to soften up the pads on a MPC500 then why even chim in?

If he had the money to buy a bigger MPC im pretty sure he would have, or maybe he just loves the MPC500 over other models, why dont some of you user's stop being arse-caps and tryn being helpful. and if you dont have any valid advice to help a user with his/her issue then it's a little less known secret, but i'll help you out.....

*Goes into a whisper voice* there is a button in the upper left hand of most browsers called the "Back Button" i heard if you hit it, it takes you out of the topic in which you feel you shouldnt be in.....really trippy right??? I know!

first of all, this quesrtion has been asked countless times on the forum, so if the OP really wanted to get help, he could have. SDecond of all, buying a bigger MPC is always a better option and I believe a pretty sound piece of advice. Im not saying buy a 1000 or a 500, but maybe a 2000 or a 2000xl, not much more than a 500, with softer pads and a bigger workspace. Thurd, who the **** are you to tell me anything, I didn't see your revolutionary solution to the problom. Or did I miss it amongst the 5 pages of nonsense?
Please, tell me how YOU will revolutionize this piece of Jr. Gear. Till then I suggest not making yourself to be the arse cap, you arse cap.

Im not sure if you checked lately, but you're an idiot.

First off, Who cares if the question is asked Umptine-Million times. If you feel its a waste of your precious time then why even make some wack ass off the cuff joke, because its still not going to get the question solved.

2nd, why spend damn near another $1000 bucks to get softer pads when you dont need to? Maybe your solution to problems is just buy a upgrade but thats not everyone's ability especially in this day and time of the economy doing a nose dive right now.

3rd, If I had a help solution trust and believe I would've PM the OP. but on the real, the question is interesting to me as well. because I have been around a 2000xl and the pads on there is butter compaired to the 500, but who am I? A person who has just as much right to voice an opinion as you do. And trust just because you spend money on a expensive upgrade doesnt make u better by a long shot. and if u think it does then lmao @ ur life.

again, who ever mentioned an EXPENSIVE upgrade. I never said spend 1000 dollars, and Ive said that a secondhand 1000, 2000, or 2000xl are around the same price range as a 500. Dude you need to read before you post, otherwise you just sound like a jackass. But anyway, I dont know what crawled up your tooter and burrowed a hole to your lady's private parts, but buy a tampax and plug that ish already. Cause all i hear is "blah blah blah meme blah blah".

No you didnt say buy a second hand 1000, 2000, or 2000xl. on this page(page 5) you never said buy second hand as of 6:35pm est.

Common sense has nothing to do with inexperienced users, I love this forum due to the fact this is the only MPC forum I have found. but truth of the matter is some of the user's here act like the asking of a simple "How to" question is completely out of the context of asking for help here.

I understand when users dont read the manual or reference guide, then by all means give him hell. but when a user askes other fellow users who have MPC's how to softing up the pads which IS NOT covered in the manual and u all jerk his chain for the fun of it, that pisses me off and i think its eff'd up

no, ur wrong, common sense has everything to do with it, i was an inexperienced user and i figured it out, plus there is like hella pages of the same question everywhere, people have spent hella time giving info and you guys wanna act like none of that matters,. what pisses me off is when peeps like you chime in all high and mighty like,. acting like a corn hole to everyone who is just joking around.. how do you know that spraying ur load on ur pads isnt gonna make em softer?? have you tried it?? I didnt think so.. after you try it come back to me and tell me if it didnt work... truth of the matter is EVERYTHING HAS BEEN COVERED HERE, all you have to do is look for it... its the years of work this community has provided, dont take it for granted,

I founded a work around for the harder pads, I got the idea from watching Marco Polo talk about using a MPD24 in adding small touches to beats he has done on his mpc2000xl.

I was blessed with a mpd16 from a good friend of mine, and linked it up to the mpc500 via midi and the pads is very responsive and soft. so if any of you guys had issues with the tough pads on the 500 and have access to a mpd16 then it will help for the time being.

Those cork pieces are super easy to install and make the pads mad sensitive, thus you don't have to beat them like this thread...a dead horse. They have colored pads too, so you're set to jet.

I wasn't really feelin' my MPC 500 when I first got it 'cause of the stiff pads, but now it's a frickin' blast.

Good luck man and keep on keepin' on.

It doesnt affect or bother me one way or the other but if it's a person's preference to get softer pads then why get mad? It makes perfect sense as to why you would want softer pads, especially if you are working the pads like a madd scientist and want the fastest response time possible.

BLiTzZD to you, the pads arent that difficult to manage
but for another user it might be,

lmao, damn "cant we all just.......get along"

so what are the final verdicts? get the 1k upgrade and cut them smaller?

after using the sp1200 for a while just about everything else feels "soft" :-)

on that f'er before. Jr gear? I dont get it, the mpc.5k can be more useful than a 2kxl 2kxl has what 32mb max? 128mb on the mpc, with usb, sd standard, runs on batteries, real time tuning(although i wish you could switch it to after the note off sometimes:-( ), better effects(kind of sad to say when the 500's effects aren't all that great), doesn't really sound very Junior. Pretty powerful when you get out of the box and quit thinking "yo i iz a revolutionary i haz kick snare hi hizzat and i went to the slavation army to find my jazz loop which doesn't match up" ooooh next level shit. lol. sorry. get over yourself.

put the blunt down, and realize pseudo intellectualism is a disease most burnouts suffer from.

there's a lot you can do with a battery operated unit that has 128mb of ram. if you dont realize this potential, i dont think your'e quite thinking revolutionary, but rather in the box. especially iwth the ability to utilize usb. quickly port over loops from your computer which can sound amazing with the vsts out there. make your tracks on your computer, port over some loops to mpc for live usage. dont have to worry about the generators @ events blowing out your equipment.

go to the park, bring a mic wit the mpc, sample real world sounds. and work right then on rearranging them.

lots of power. sorry this isn't a thread for that. but i dont like stupid little comments.

this thread isn't about "Swtiching to another unit" just helping the guy get more comfy pads.

they aren't that great. but I dont think any of the newer units are any good. i thought the 2kxl's felt liek shit too. the 3k and 60 were the only ones i really thought felt nice.

 "Light the dubbie till it' glows like a ruby" ???

and i unno, i might look into the 1000 pads but this mpd16 pads is so soft and responsive i might just wait till this stops working.

^^^^^yo, i got the 1000 pads back when they didnt make black pads for the 500, i think they might be the slightest bit softer then the grays, but the new color pads probably are too, i personally would like harder pads, ones that stick up a lil higher, especially for my mpd32..
