that's got to be one of the stupidest questions I've seen on this forum yet

noone can answer that question

define "best"

do you think there are special monitors for MPCs that are different to other monitors?

if you spend $5000 or more you'll probably be happy with the sound, but that's a lot of money. do you want to know what's the best for under $500? under $1000? under $5000?

see the link inflict3 posted, but that's about inexpensive monitors, and since you didn't give any details in your question maybe you are happy to spend unlimited amounts

Or if that's too cheap for you...why don't you go and get TAD to make you some custom enclosures for their drivers...or find the rare horn enclosure they did a while back

my point is it's not a simple question, because what's "best" depends on lots of variables only you can know

money and the size of the room you'll use them in probably being the main variables

I got a question guys. I have a small bedroom I use for producing, so I'm considering either Rokit 5s or Rokit 6s...question is whether there is a big difference in sound quality because id rather spend less. which should i get?

Im wet behind the ears when it comes to music production, I didn't take into consideration the size of the room or other variables that people who have been producing music do.

When I asked what were the best monitors, I was asking it that way to see what the opinions of you all were. I know there isnt just one BEST of them all type monitor, but if a user likes a monitor or favors one over others they usually call it best for them and I was hoping to get a general feel for which monitors would be good to look into.

but if i happened to mess up ya'll day with the question then lol my fault

Bad route fam.

Going the cheap route ends up being the more expensive route down the line.
If you go for cheap decent monitors you are more likely to upgrade soon then if you were to wait a few more months to get good quality. Trust me fam... Your gonna end up buying those tiny Rokit 5's then your gonna buy the Rokit 8's about 1 to 2 years from your original purchase.

SAVE and go for some bigger monitors. Do yourself the favor.

I am curious though now... has anyone tested the rocket 5's next to the rocket 6's?

It just occurred to me the other day that they had a 5 and a 6 inch model.

hey a friend of mine got a pair of these little tascam monitors that sound not too bad. I was actually impressed for the size and price... they were about 200 canadian for the pair and they are like 3 or 4 inch monitors.

For this review I've focused on the RP6s, but KRK tend to build speakers with a sensibly consistent family sound across each product range. You can thus expect the larger RP8s to reproduce lower frequencies more effectively, and their overall maximum SPL to be a little higher, but the general tonal balance to be much the same. For desktop use in a small space, the RP5s would probably be the best choice from the range.
