Ensoniq ASR-10 help, for ASRonians.

but i think your right grublet ,you need to save all instruments, effects, sequences, songs, then save bank.

i guess theres no one program file that saves all ,like on the mpc

Try saving ever instrument then the bank save the bank last

i got this sample i'm playing with on the wave sample edit screen and as i tap the key the numbers start to move all crazy then i stop playing and they still keep moving like some kinda glitch, but it does not effect the sound at all.

sorry for all the questions i'm just getting to know this machine thanks for all the help fam.

bank doesn't contain samples or any of the above. only assignment data, where they were when you last saved.
it will place all of them back into those spots.
if you DONT have them already on the disk then bank won't be able to place them all back into those spots.
bank is a snapshot of everything in the asr, not the actual data, samples, effects, you need to save those seperately.
you need to have all the above stuff saved on the same disk as the bank save file so that the bank can recall them right then and there.

I told you before, the problem is comparing alot of stuff to mpc's.
It's a whole different design of things in the Ensoniq world and you'll get confused everytime you try and
compare man.

Been trying to get my asr10 to work as a midi controllerwith reason fl for years, never worked. on random days id just try it to see if itd work. NADA! so i always used it standalone its my fav peice of gear. HOW THE F can i get this to work as a midi keyboard on logic9? ive tried everything on asr to make it work multi mode midi channels etc etc etc etc. I must be a retard cause i cant get it to play shit.. Lamp i didnt wanna PM u and ask but if anyone knows, help a brotha out

Well if your having trouble with logic and you've tried EVERYTHING on the asr id look to logic

Nah logic can see it just it doesnt play anything, just as fl can see it but it plays nada.. what is the method u guys use for asr to make it do midi

create new instrument > midi out channel 1-16?

i set mine to its corresponding instrument channel
i then set my multi mode on
make sure midi in and out plugged in

you know i had the opsite problem,i didnt want my midi controlled yet and i had a hi hat that kept playing every time i hit the lowest key pissed me off i was about to post ,and i remembered someone posted to turn local on and i did when i came across it on the menu one time ago, soi turned it off this time and WHam!!! that was it,didnt do it anymore. try that see if it just need to be turn off and on to be retriggered again these electronics are old they need some help sometimes. i'm dealing with my sample screen going crazy even when the sequencer is off or i'm not tapping a key. i've been told that my number keys or my slider my be going out. which sux i just got this.

how do i copy?create asequence without it effecting the first seq for exmple:
i have the seq1 then i copy to seq2 but then when i go to the new seq2 and mute an instrument,it turns on in the seq1. i dont want to have to replay certain parts over again i the new seq2.

and how many times can you record into one seq 8times right?but how do irecord so that i can hear what i'm playing over. i want to add to the seq,when i overdub it erases what i had on the track do i have to create another instrument and go over what i played?

got stuff saved, just now i have to figure out this so i can move on. thanks much appreciated

question..let's say i want to track out something...i already have input 1 and 2 armed on ptools..output 1 on EPS sends sound..however Output #2..Does not...is this thing only mono when tracking or is the output #2 damage?

can you touch the jacks on the oppisite side of where they are plugged into the EPS can you get feed back from both sides?

Question: I saw posted somewhere back that SCSI 100mb zip drives are ?preferred (?maybe that only they worked?)for an asr-10. However on ebay I see a zip drive with 2.1gb that is "ready for plug and play installation. It includes power cable and the appropriate SCSI II (Half Pitch) 50 PIN male -to- DB25 male interface cable, as recommended by your Keyboard/Synth/Recorder's manufacturer ". The listing also says that the drive is "CERTIFIED TO ENSONIQ SPECS" and has the brand listed as "E-MU/Ensoniq". Is this correct? did Ensoniq make 2gb drives? I don't ?think so? but even if not is there third-party 2gb drives that work with the ASR-10? Appreciate any answers it's pretty much a yes or no question but feel free to elaborate if I'm missing something. Thanks.
