How do I remove the clips to remove the pad? (Pad Upgrade)

I'm trying to install this pad upgrade but I'm stuck at 1:43 because the dude didn't add in the footage of how he removed the clips or instructions on how to, so now I'm asking for help so I don't end up breaking anything in the MPC
