Hey how do I set the midi on my MPC to be used in Logic. I put In and Out cables from my MPC to my MIDISPORT. I have a cable going from MIDI out A from my MPC to IN A on the MIDISPORT. Then I have Midi IN 1 from my MPC to MIDI OUT on my MIDISPORT. Now what do I do in the MPCs midi preferences...? Please Respond. Thank you

What are your Logic settings for synchronization??

I went into my evironment----- Then into Midi Instruments, Then I created a multi instrument...unchecked all 16 channels and set the ports to what channel the MPC is running through midiwise, which is Port A. I just want to know how to set it in the MPC--- The thing is when I go into Midisync on my MPC and I set it to midi clock and go to my sequencer and set the channel to Device 1a and I hit a pad, theres a whole bunch of random midi data being distributed by the MPC into the logic piano roll---and I dont understand why it's doing this...I know there isnt anything wrong with my MPC because it does this on out A and B, an I switch from In1 to In 2 and the same thing happened. Please help... I set up the Motif and the triton fine....Just having problems with the MPC. My 0s is 1.2

you can filter that data out, but its an indictation that the mpc is sending data into the computer, and logic is recognising it. The data is channel pressure. you'll notce if you pump the pad, it will go up and down. you can opt to filter out this stuff in logics midi settings.

'Song Settings'-> 'MIDI Sync'-> 'Transmit - do you want logic as the master or slave.

to me it sounds like you want the mpc to controll logic, so set logic to revice midi clock and hit play on the mp.

good luck

I hope so..I want to start out with Logic 8 being the master and I just want to use the sequencer on logic 8 and just use the MPC like I use the triton(i want to see the midi patterns and hear play back thats all)...on my MPC how should it be set? and on logic do I need to do anything?

What exactly is the issue here fella's?

1. Do you want to set up midi sync between the MPC and Logic? or...

2. Do you want to trigger Logic instruments from the MPC?

If you're gonna post up in here, try to make yourself clear.

There is already a Logic Pro tips thread and a thread by myself which covers using Logic Pro 8 with your MPC in which all your questions have been answered.
