what program should i use to get my songs on my comp

yo i haven't had money for the fuking extra memory that would make this process easier. i am just gonna connect the mpc using audio wires. would soungforge be good or do you guys know something better?

I was wondering the same thing. How do I put the track from the mpc to my computer? Even with extra memory or whatever u need at some point to get it on your pc to burn it on a CD at least. How do u do that?

There's more than one way to do it.
If you have the whole track inside the MPC, and the EXM128 memory upgrade, then you can "resample" the track as a single WAV
- set Record source to "Main Out"
- Set sample length to the length of your track or longer.
- Start sampling and hit Play.

But in all other cases, you're working in the audio domain. This is also true if you use external modules, FX, and a mixer, then you can't do it all in the MPC anyway. So a decent soundcard and a program like SoundForge, WaveLab, Cool Edit Pro / Adobe Audition, will do the job, as you say. If you don't have the software, try Audacity, an Open Source editor available for download for Windows, Linux or Mac OS X (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/)

I just wanted to let you know that Apple's newest operating system is not called OS/X. It is Mac OS X, or OS X for short. The only reason I'm nit-picking is because using the incorrect form may cause problems when searching the archives or the web. Note that the name is also not OSX. I've noticed your faq uses the incorrect spelling as well.
