Help finding an audio interface with atleast 8 ins!

the Saffire, Mackie and Edirols interfaces i heard are great especially if youre on a budget. ive only heard great things from RME as well, but i guess thats why they are so pricey. The FW 1082 is sweet for the deal and the controller but i bet the other interfaces have better pre amps. i have a Presonus Firepod (FP1). its great. firewire, has 8 in and 8 outs and is perfect for 8 outs on the akai.

usb uses CPU time so thats why FW is better because it doesnt use CPU at all it has own chip for that and its faster in real life... usb 2.0 is faster in theory but not in real use...

ive used Motu Ultralite its 10x14 fw interface and you can get it cheap from ebay.

STAY AWAY from the Alesis multimix usb 2.0 not sure about the firewire models but
that piece of shite died on me twice. luckily I got money back and bought the Motu ultralite.
Its been rock solid since i've bought it.
