Sampling from a playstation 2/DVD'S/TV

How's it going everybody??? I've been having a little difficulty with sampling from my TV. I don't know if I have underestimated the difficulty of this project. I bought quarter inch cables that have 2 RCA jacks on the opposite side and tried plugging it into the RCA'S on my VCR which is connected to my television (the quarter inch's are in my record ins) . When going in record mode on my MPC, I am having trouble getting a level. Any input regarding this topic would be most appreciated.

are you hooked up to the vcr from its audio out?

jus crank all the level up .... my vcr even has volume adjust on the remote

You need a stereo receiver...that's what i would use.
