I figured out how to access Usb on my laptop, but when I try dragging a file from my laptop to the mpc folder, it says I only have 25 kb of space available of 30mb total. My 32mb CF card is full, but my internal RAM has 113mb free, shouldn't I be able to drag the file from my laptop to to my internal RAM?

When I drag the 4.09mb file into mpc folder it says

"There is not enough space on MPC you need an additional 4.09 mb

Free Space:25kb
Total Size:30.2mb

How could there only be 30mb on my 128mb RAM mpc?

RAM is not storage, it is memory...

highly recommend you upgrade the size of your CF.. you can find them on ebay for around $13 for a 2GB card

oh, ok thanks. I thought it would let you load up 113mb into the folder, but only save it when you save it to the CF card.

Do you know how to delete files from the CF card. I want to clear it completely? I only see "save" and "load" on the pad
functions

Thanks

you delete from the SAVE menu, you just highlight what you want and a delete option will show up its F5, if you want to clear your entire CF card you have to format it.. you should have formatted it from the start anyway.. if you haven't already its MODE> PAD3> Highlight Memory Card on the right screen and then WINDOW button should light up.. hit WINDOW then F2=FORMAT

Thanks, that worked. I was able to transfer my file successfully as it went from 30mb to 25mb, but now its not listed in my memory card folder. I try loading the whole folder, but nothing happens.

I just bought this used, and now the guys telling me he had problems loading samples. Am I doing it right, and its just faulty?

He suggested trying to re-install jjos or original akai os because he thinks thats when the problem started. Otherwise I'm just returning it.

did you ever format your CF.. its a necessity to format your CF for jjos.. i think ppl have had problems like the ones you are mentioning and trouble saving when they haven't formatted their cards/hard drives..

make sure you have anything you want to save backed up elsewhere before formatting because formatting will clear your card..

try formatting your CF card then attempt to do what you are trying to do.. and see if that works..

hey, I got it working. Thanks for all your help, I wouldn't have known about the formatting part w/o your response.
I actually had to re-install the free jjos ver, but that still didn't work, so I installed it back to the akai os and everything worked. But I really bought it for the jjos, so I tried doing the free version one last time, and it works too now. Its great, I'm glad I didn't return it.

Thanks again

I cant say for sure which is the correct way, but I didn't have a CF card reader on my laptop, so I just did it on the mpc and it worked fine.
