Anybody run their MPC drums through external hardware gear?

Anybody run their MPC drums through external hardware gear to say add a lil warmth or fatten things up a bit? I've been messing with a friend of mines Novation Supernova to create bass patches from scratch, the sound I'm getting now is amazing. Anybody use any other gear to like Avalon units or compressors or limiters achieve a sound like this from running their MPC drums through it?

Sometimes. Options here include:
-BBE Sonic Maximizer
-Alesis 3630 Comp / gate
-Akai MFC 42 filter

I'm also wondering, if any of you guys run your drum breaks or samples from vinyl through some sort of a hardware piece , into the mpc. I don't mean resample using something like Akai s950, but just real-time converting (maybe Akai s950 could do something like that, so prove me wrong).

Vinyl goes thru the MFC-42, Drums go thru API A2d and bass goes thru BBE

Ditto on the BBE Sonic Maximizer. Not always but when i want that extra bump. otherwise the onboard master compressor on the 5k works pretty well.

I always did like the Akai filter. They gettin harder to find these days lol.

I run my table through a yamaha su700 which processes in real time effects and filters ect before i hit my mv.

I got a few pieces that I've collected through the years that I actually still have. I basically had stuff accessed through patching and through the auxes on my mixer, def a decent way to fatt'n up your tracks or sounds.

The efx rack & 24x8 mixer isn't being used at the moment due to space issues, but I plan on get'n back to basics as soon as the opportunity presents itself again.
