Quick question re. akai included samples

I'm getting my xl w/100mb zip drive on the weekend. Just wondering what kind of samples there are on the zip disk that's included in the box. Anyone know?

Don't know about the zip disk, but I had a cd with my XL. There's just a bunch of drum kits and hits, most are pretty average.

I don't think I've ever used a single sound off of it..

They are good for some live jamming tho, or if you need realistic sounds.

If they are as uninspiring as the ones on the floppy that came with my 2000 I wouldn't get excited about them before you hear them. Really flaccid hits from a modern, plastic drum kit.......... basically, not the sort of drum sounds you're likely to want if you are buying an MPC.

yeah I think the cd had the MPC2000 "disks" as well as the 3000 and 60 disks. Nothing to write home about!

Just dig and create your own kits.You'd be alot better off....Peace.

yes.......I think Akai give you those sounds purely for inspiration because you immediatly think: these are s**t, I can make better drums than that!
