There is no real test to tell you the condition of the voice coils or the amps.
You could easily buy a problem without knowing it at the time.
People tend to abuse monitors by trying to treat them like a HiFi speaker or by giving it that occassional oops on the volume.
If you buy a used mic or monitors you should try to get them from a dealer of some sort so you have someone standing behind them.
Right now there are
so many discredible people on places like eBay and CL who knowing sell broke items it's a shame.
So you better shop wisely.
